Working on a laptop all day long it’s not an easy job. If you’re one of those professionals always on the go and the coffee shop around the corner is your preferred office, you must know how tiring and difficult for your body is to work countless hours in an uncomfortable position. While in a regular office you can use a laptop stand and external keyboards and mice to improve your working position, things are not that easy while on the road.
A while back we featured the Flio laptop stand which allows road warriors to improve their posture when working on the go. While the Flio is still our preferred portable laptop stand when not in the office, there are people out-there who need an en even more raised laptop position to ergonomically work in improvised offices. For those people, and not only, we present you the Roost Portable Laptop Stand.
The Roost was initially designed for 13″, 15″ and 17″ MacBook Pro laptops, but it’s also compatible with 13″-17″ non-Apple notebooks. A full list of compatible models is available here. The minimalist laptop stand is handmade in Detroit, US, it’s made of super-light Carbon Fiber and Delrin (the same material used in guitar picks), weights only 6.5oz (183g) and has a load capacity of 132+ lbs (that’s about 60kg). The Roost raises your laptop screen about 10″ from the desk (that’s about 25 cm) and requires an external keyboard and mouse for usage.
Just as the Withings Activite Analog Smartwatch we featured earlier, Nevo is a minimalist smartwatch disguised into a classic analogue wristwatch, which makes it perfect for classy outfits as well as business/office activity.
On the outside the Nevo Smartwatch has a stylish look and sports a 5ATM water resistant 316L stainless steel case that’s .49in (12.6mm) thick and 1.57 (40mm) in diameter and a Sapphire glass crystal. On the inside we find a quality Swiss ETA movement as well as a MEMS 3-axis accelerometer which serves to count steps, walked distance and burned calories measurements as well as swimming strokes counting. The Nevo connects to your iPhone and Android devices via low consumption Bluetooth 4.0 and allows you easy management of fitness goals, workout history and stats as well as information upload to the Apple Health kit and Google Fit via free dedicated smartphone apps (iPhone iOs7 and up as well as Android 4.3 and higher). Other than tracking your fitness performance, the Nevo Smartwatch also alerts you about calls, SMS and other alarms via vibration and color codes on the front dial.
The Nevo is powered by two regular CR2025 watch batteries and never requires recharging. The movement battery usually lasts for about 5 years of continuous usage, while the secondary battery that powers Nevo’s smart features requires to be changed every 6 months. A solar charging model is also available.

There are many cool developments going on in the car industry and manufacturers around the world are bringing more and more cool technologies and gadgets on board of our vehicles every day. But most of these new technologies and cool car gadgets are introduced only in the newest models and very few find their way to oldest cars. So what to do if you have an older car or if you purchased last year’s “latest model” and you start feeling it’s not gadgetized enough?
I gathered bellow 47 of the coolest car gadgets I found around. These gadgets are designed and built to make your old car feel newer and to allow you to get access to the latest technologies and gadgets without needing to pay for a whole new car.
Which one is your favorite? I LOVE 26 and 40!

The desk has a minimalist design which makes it perfect for most apartments (even the smaller ones) and offices, it’s made of strong wood covered with eight-layer lacquer finish and it’s top is foam lined and wrapped in genuine leather.
But wait … that’s not all! As it’s name suggests, the speaker desk also features a speaker system designed to decompress digital music and generate the widest, clearest stereo sound around. Simply connect your iPhone, iPad, Android device or your laptop via Bluetooth or USB cable and get ready for the show.
The speaker system sports 45-degree angled rear speakers that project sound across a 120-degree span (that’s about 33% wider than most stereo speakers) and main loudspeakers with 7 drivers – two 2-in tweeters, two full-range and two medium drivers and one 6-in woofer for crystal clear and precise high and low tones!
Plinth is a minimalist, universal tablet stand designed to make your life easier at home, at the office and while on the go! The Plinth is a truly universal device and works with all iPad models, Android and Windows phones and tablets, Kindle, iPhone – with or without cases. Not bigger than an iPhone 4, the Plinth stays quiet in your pocket, bag or tablet sleeve waiting to help you when you need it. Once you’re ready to fix your tablet into a more convenient reading or working position, the Plinth deploys with a touch of a button and is ready to offer a more comfortable and ergonomic position in less than a second – check out the video for a full demo on how it works.
I used the Plinth for about two days and I find a perfect mix between portability and usability. Big enough to comfortably and securely hold a 10.1-in tablet, while small enough to fit in your jeans pocket (literally), the Plinth is one of the most convenient tablet stands I came across. Not only that, but, as my regular PC is a small 11.6-in laptop, I used the Plinth as a laptop stand for these two days and it worked out perfectly. On the lowest angle position, the Plinth allowed me to raise my laptop to about 3-4-in (that’s about 10-12 cm), just what I needed for a more comfortable working position and better heat dissipation.
The Plinth is available in 4 color variations (graphite/grey, graphite/teal, white/grey, white/green) and will set you back $32 US, which, given it ingenious design and increased portability it’s a very reasonable price. Check it out …
