Schwinn CycleNav Or How To Get GPS Navigation On Your Bike
Built by the icon bike manufacturer Schwinn, the CycleNav was conceived to improve your next bike ride by bringing GPS navigation (and much more) to the experience!

ALSO READ HandleBand – The Universal Smartphone Bike Mount and Bikepod – The Bicycle Handlebar Camera Tripod.

The Schwinn CycleNav relies on your smartphone’s GPS to find the best route, calculate distances and turns, and the information is transferred via dedicated Android and iOs apps using low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology. Basically, the CycleNav allows you to navigate via light signals and voice commands (which helps you keep your eyes on the road … where they should be anyway!), while being able to track traveled distances, ride length, speed, burned calories and so on … The device also sports a built-in headlight with a battery life of around 10 hours of continuous usage to help you light your way during night rides.

Tempo Bluetooth Smart Temperature Monitor by BlueMaestro
The BlueMaestro Tempo Bluetooth Smart Temperature Monitor is a cool piece of home gadgetry that allows you to constantly monitor the temperature inside and outside your home and set alarms based on predefined temperature thresholds.
The BlueMaestro monitor works on devices equipped with low energy Bluetooth 4.0 running on Android 4.3 and iOs 6 and higher (check your device’s compatibility here)
Here’s how it works: first, make sure your Bluetooth connection is set to not time out (some smartphones come with connection timeout setup to 2 minutes), instal the free Android or iOs app, hold the monitor’s button pressed for 1 second (you’ll hear a small beep when it turns ON) and you’re ready to roll. That’s it, no setup, no syncing or any other action required. In a couple of seconds the device will start reading information from the monitor.

Both Android and iOs apps will show you temperature stats and will allow you to set triggers based on your temperature preferences. I find this feature very useful as it can help you quickly identify sudden temperature drops or increases and gives you the chance to take action before it’s too late (think about saving those flowers when you forget the window open in the middle of the winter … this actually happened to us while we were testing the device) as well as smaller differences which, addressed in time, can help you cut heating and AC costs.

The Smart Monitor can connect to your phone for up to 75 meters (that’s about 225 feet) if it has a direct line of sight, is weather proof (can be used outside as well as in humid environments), allows multiple units to hook up at the same smartphone or tablet (you can easily monitor multiple rooms at the same time) and is conveniently powered by 2XAA batteries (included) which will last for about 1 year (you can easily change them by unscrewing 2 screws and removing the back cover).

YotaPhone - The Dual Screen Android Russian Smartphone At It's Second Generation
Remember the YotaPhone? The dual screen Russian smartphone developed by the guys over at Yota Devices?
The second generation of this cool smartphone was just announced. We’re still speaking about a dual screen layout including a 5″ front HD LCD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and a back 4.7″ EPD (Electronic Paper Display) or E-Ink screen sporting a 960×540-pixel resolution. The E-Ink screen was updated with full touch functionality and most smartphone functions can be used without having to turn on the main display. The new model of YotaPhone features improved specs over the first model – an OLED 442 PPI front display with 1080p resolution for a full smartphone experience, quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm processor and 2GB RAM will allow increased performance with most games and apps out there, 32GB of on-board storage, 8MP back camera, all connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, wireless charging and a 2,500mAh battery to power the system.

While 2,500 mAh doesn’t seem much power for today’s smartphones, the YotaPhone comes with an power-saving mode that completely turns off the AMOLED screen and keeps the back EDP screen going, easily giving you a few extra hours of usage out of an almost finished battery. YotaDevices did not release exact info about battery life, so we’re looking forward to these stats. They can be a total game changer!

The YotaSmartphone will be available towards the end of 2014 and will have a price tag of around $499 US.
