Leap Motion Brings Mouseless Minority Report Like Controls To You Computer

If you ever wanted to control your PC with a simple hand move, just like Tom Cruise did in his famous Minority Report movie, now it’s the right time to get started! While you’d probably still have to wait a bit for the massive 3D hologram screens they used in the movie, the hands PC control part it’s available for purchase in the form a small stylish receiver box called Leap Motion.

The Leap Motion is a plug-and-play device compatible with Windows 7/8 and Mac OS X 10.7 or latter and allows you to control dedicated software via hand movements. Simply plug in the device, place it in front of your keyboard so it can “sense” all your hands moves and you’re ready to roll. The Leap Motion detects a large variety of motions such hand writing and drawing, pinch moves, 360 degrees rotations, 3 axis (up/down/back/forth) moves allowing you to point, wave, reach, grab, pick and drop something, write messages and so on … Pretty impressive!

23-in Full HD HP Sprout Creativity Station Product J4W72AA#ABA
There’s been a while since we heard exciting news from the desktop side of personal computing! But that’s all about to change with the Sprout, the latest HP project in desktop personal computers, a 23-in touch screen Windows 8.1 machine with Intel RealSense 3D camera which combines depth-sensing and infrared cameras for accurate 3D scanning and a second screen projected on a large capacitive touchpad called TouchMat to allow users Kinect-type interactions with the PC. So how does it actually work? The main screen of the Sprout works just like any Windows 8 touch enabled LCD. The Illumintor (that scanner part) scans 2D and 3D objects placed on the TouchMat, transfers them live to a design app on the Sprout and allows users to interact with scans using the same TouchMat as input device and secondary display at the same time! Cool, isn’t it?

ALSO READ about the Cubify Sense 3D Scanner

The HP Sprout Creativity Station is powered by a 4th gen Core i7-4790S processor and has NVIDIA GeForce GT graphics, 1TB of storage, 8GBs of RAM (upgradable to 16GB) and a 23″ Full HD 1080p touch-enabled backlit LCD display.

CreoPop - The Cool Ink 3D Pen
Most 3D pens out-there work based on the simple principle of melting material and letting users “draw” layer over layer, building 3D shapes. The ABS or PLA plastics used in conventional 3D pens melt at around 482 degrees Fahrenheit (about 250 degrees Celsius), which makes it difficult to be used in homes, with kids or pets around and requires increased attention in handling them to avoid accidents.

ALSO CHECK the Structure Sensor – The iPad 3D Scanner and these 3D Printers we featured earlier.

The CreoPop 3D Pen is designed to overcome the downsides of classic 3D pens. While the “drawing” process is similar, the CreoPop uses light sensitive ink which is solidified nu a built-in UV light generator. Other than the obvious safety advantages, the CreoPop is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery which allows it to be used in a cordless way and has the ability to 3D print in multiple colors, based on the used inks.

The ColorPop is in project mode over at Indiegogo and you can secure one at an early bird price f $99 US. The delivery is scheduled for March 2015.
