Apple 4.7in iPhone 6 And 5.5 iPhone 6 Plus Smartphones With Retina HD Display

Apple Watch - Launched At The 2014 Keynote - Available as Original Watch, Watch Sports, 18k Gold Apple Watch Edition

I initially intended this article to be rant longer post about the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and how Apple made history with its famous smartphone line. But finally, as the net is full of Apple histories and tons of posts pro and contra their latest models, I decided to compile it in a couple of phrases and let go on the subject …

While I love how Apple designs their gadgets with that fancy, metallic finish, I know how reliable and fast their smartphones and tablets are, I envy iOs users for having access first and sometimes exclusively to some apps and games (although this changed a lot lately, Android is keeping the pace very well and it even starts setting the trend) I always stayed on the Android side of the technology!

I always saw Steve Job’s Apple as a trend setter. They always took the hard path (remember … promoting touch screens when all gadgets had buttons, promoting Bluetooth when all headsets had wires, promoting cool and expensive designs and most smartphones were struggling finding a decent finish, reliability and ease of usage when all manufacturers looked to cut costs and quality… and so on) and they were well rewarded for doing so (hey … while they were pushing hard they become the most valued company of the face of Earth!!!).

But things were a bit different yesterday when they announced the latest smartphone models – the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus and the Apple Watch. Don’t get me wrong, the show was amazing, the advertising and hype created around the event were what they needed to be, the phones still look great, they’re still moving super-fast and flawlessly, they still have amazing apps and they’re still as reliable as a smartphone can be! But … there was something missing … they’re no longer setting trends!!! The smartphone world no longer divides in iPhone and smartphones, they’re all smartphones now, if you know what I mean …

Now, let’s pass to the more physical aspect of the launch and let me walk you through the devices so you see it with your own eyes:

Apple Pay NFC Payment Processor For Visa, Mastercard And Amex Available For Disney, McDonald's, Whole Foods, Uber, Grupon

Apple Pay:

Apple also introduced a new “payment process” based on NFC. Each device will have a payment number assigned which will be used instead of the account credit card. This could come in handy as, if your phone gets stolen, you’ll no longer have to cancel your credit card, cutting access to the device payment number will be enough to stop all types of payments. Apple Pay will launch first on Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Other supported retailers include Disney, McDonald’s, Whole Foods, Uber and Groupon for the moment.

All jokes aside, the Apple Watch will be available in the beginning of 2015 for an announced price of $349 and will feature:

  • Six types of strap and two metal frame colors to match you style
  • Digital Crown”  – a control wheel, just like any regular watch dial, which will serve to scroll between the watch models (when turned) and as home/exit button (when pressed)
  • Touch screen
  • Siri voice control
  • Shareable heartbeat
  • Animated and customizable emojis
  • Fitness tracker capabilities including heart monitor, gyroscope and accelerometer
  • WatchKit SDK for third-party developers to create extra functionalists on the Apple Watch
