Thank you God Of Gadgets for inspiring someone to create this Puzzle-like All-In-One Super Gadget!
The Fujitsu Lifebook 2013 allows us to use independent gear for specific tasks (think picture taking with a camera or news reading on a tablet) and incorporate all that gear to create a full laptop when you need one! – Also check the Asus Padfone (same hybrid gadget combination) and the Obento Note which seems to be at the base of the 2013 Lifebook.
We all have to carry around multiple gadgets at certain times or make choices which one to bring with you and which one to leave home. Does “Should I take my camera or we’ll use the iPhone one?” or “Would you take the laptop or your tablet in vacation” sound familiar? Well … no longer this should be an issue.
The Fujitsu 2013 Lifebook has a tablet in place of the classic keyboard. Remove the tablet and you have a … tablet (dah!); put back the tablet and you laptop has a keyboard. Same with the webcam – remove it and get a full digital camera to snap pics. The smartphone/MP3 also snaps in and fully integrates into the laptop….
This is super cool. At least on paper … we’re eager to see it in real life.
Let me know your thoughts about the 2013 Lifebook. Would you buy a All-In-One Super Gadget like this? Let’s hear you in the comments…
UPDATE – 11-11-2013 – Following my press inquiry with Fujitsu regarding the LifeBook 2013 concept their support team confirmed Fujitsu does not intend to further develop this concept into a product. Here’s the full answer:
“I believe the PC you are referring to was one design that featured in the FUJITSU Design Award 2011.
Fujitsu does not currently have any plans to develop that particular design into a product.
If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
